Before installing your favourite custom ROM you have to need to root the phone. At the time of first root you must me more careful. Some time there may chance to brick your phone may cause lose your warranty. Nexus 4 E960 can root using CF auto root. It is easier and safer method than the others. Above rooting instructions only use to root the LG Nexus 4 E960 model.


Requirements need to root LG Nexus 4 E960:

*Nexus 4 E960.

*Windows PCA file extraction tool like WinRAR or 7-Zip.

*Enable USB Debugging on your phone. Go to Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.

*Android Software Development Kit installed and an updated Android Debug Bridge setup on your PC.

*Download CF-Auto-Root (CF-Auto-Root-mako-occam-nexus4.zip, 7.6 MB).



*Backup all personal data on your phone to make sure you have a copy of your personal data (e.g., contacts, SMS, MMS, Internet settings, Wi-Fi passwords, and the like) in case the procedure in this guide erases such data.

*Make sure that your phone’s battery power is at least 50% to avoid interruption due to power loss that may cause damage to your phone.

How to root?

1. Extract the CF-Auto-Root-mako-occam-nexus4.zip file and save it to your C:\ drive.

2. Turn off your LG Nexus 4.

3. Reboot to Fast boot Mode by pressing and holding down the Volume Down and Power buttons until your screen turns on.

4. Connect your LG Nexus 4 to your computer using a USB cable and wait until Windows is done installing the drivers automatically.

5. Go to the folder where you extracted the CF-Auto-Root files on your computer and launch the root-windows.bat file by double-clicking it.

6. Press any key to initiate the rooting process. Your phone will reboot in the middle of the process.

7. Once the procedure is done, your phone will boot into Normal Mode.

8. If you want to confirm that your phone has been rooted successfully, check if the SuperSU app is installed. If not, just install the app from the Google Play Store and you’ll be good to go.
