- Canonical announce first Ubuntu Smartphone and confirmed it will arrive in October 2013

Finally the largest open source OS coming to mobiles this October by Canonical. Report from Wall Street Journal shows that Mark Shuttleworth, CEO of Canonical said the first Ubuntu-based phones would be coming in October. Developers, however, will get their hands on the software as early as this month.
They describe about the design as there is no buttons and a gesture-heavy interface similar to what we're seeing on BlackBerry's new Z10. Company promising that, the OS will be easy for Android phone manufacturers to convert to its platform. And also company shares their doubts about the ease of using an entirely gesture-based OS.
From the release of new OS they think that the OS will be a huge success in the case of security because all the gained companies using Linux based OS to protect their datum. There for Ubuntu might even be a better choice than BlackBerry.
